Don Richmond was the secretary of the Society for 10 years in the 1970s and 80s and was a keen amateur photographer who contributed much of the early display material used by the Society, he died in 1999. We are indebted to his daughter, Frances Halstead, who has given us his collection of photographs of Mendip, which he took from the 1950s onwards. These include landscapes, buildings, nature and village scenes. It will take time to scan and post them all (they fill two large boxes) but undoubtedly contain the proverbial gold dust.  This page exists to share them with our members and followers, we will add to it gradually as we work through this remarkable collection.  Anyone who can definitively name places, people and/or occasions would be more than welcome to let us know so we can add detail to the images for future generations.  ALL images copyright of the Don Richmond estate and Mendip Society.  No reproduction without permission please.
